After a big fall season on the cross country course and in the classroom, Columbus Wildcat senior Isabelle Rendon was named Iowa Association of Track Coaches Academic All-State in Class 1A. Rendon finished 39th at the Southeast Iowa Superconference championship meet and just missed a bid to state with an 18th place finish at the 1A qualifier at North Linn. Her top finish of the year was 12th at the Sigourney meet.
In order to be named Academic All-State the student-athlete must be a senior with a 3.8 or higher cumulative grade point average while finishing in the top 30 at the State Qualifier meet or participating at State.
