
One person was sent to the hospital after a semi truck flipped onto its side.
Washington County first responders assisted on March 13th at approximately 11:10 a.m. after a semi with a manure spreader was flipped onto its side at Highway 1 and Highway 92. The truck had two people stuck inside, and one injury was reported.
The vehicle was driven by Mario Breytenbach of Kalona.
The Washington County Fire Department, Washington County EMS, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene. One of the victims had suffered a head injury. Washington County Ambulance transported one person to the University of Iowa Hospital, arriving at 12:14 p.m.
Assisting at the scene were Washington Fire Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington EMS, Washington County Rescue, Washington County Ambulance, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Transportation, and Bulltown Towing.
