
An Iowa City man was sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Riverside.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at 7:35 a.m. on Friday, March 13th, Maurice Turner of Iowa City failed to yield to a stop sign at the intersection of Vine Avenue onto Highway 22. His vehicle was struck in a broadside collision by a vehicle driven by Brian Manary of Iowa City. Both vehicles were disabled by the wreck. Manary’s vehicle had three passengers and came to rest in the ditch.
One of the victims complained of head pain as a result of the accident. They were transported from the scene of the crash to the University of Iowa Hospital by Washington County Ambulance.
Turner was cited for failure to yield upon entering the highway, and both vehicles were towed.
Responding agencies were the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Ambulance, Riverside QRS, and Riverside Fire Department.
