A natural gas pipeline in Louisa County will be reviewed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The proposal is in regards to the renewal of the Title V Operating Permit for the Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America Station 199 in Letts.
Title V permits are reviewed and re-issued every five years. The permits are for facilities with the potential to emit large amounts of air pollutants compared to other facilities.
The application was submitted so the company can operate their existing facility. The DNR made the initial determination that the facility meets all requirements. The public comment period ends on April 11th, and the documents are available for inspection at the Letts Public LIbrary and the Quality Air Bureau’s website.
The DNR reviews applications to ensure air quality standards are in compliance.
