This winter Highland senior grappler Brock Thomann put his name among the elite in Huskies history by hitting the 100 win plateau. Thomann recorded his first career contested victory November 29th of 2022 with a pin of Jack Marshall of Iowa Valley in a quad against Washington, HLV and the Tigers at Washington High School. Thomann ended his freshman season with a 34-21 record. Those 34 victories the most of his career for a single campaign. He hit the halfway mark on the march to 100 wins in his sophomore season, December 15th of 2023 at the Fort Madison Tournament with a 17-8 major decision win over Ryan Koehler of Benton Community. Thomann’s second season saw him post a 31-17 record. A junior season of 32-17 put him on the cusp of the milestone, entering his senior year with 97 wins.
The big day for Thomann was opening night of the 2025-26 season at the Washington County duals at Mid-Prairie where he went 3-0 to get wins 98, 99 and 100, including two forfeits and a pin of Washington’s Clayton Bartholomew in under a minute. He spoke with KCII sports on that November night about the milestone. “This was pretty exciting. All you can do is win the contested matches. That’s what I did. How this team comes together shows how much we really care about each other. Whether win or lose. We’re really supportive. We support what you can when you can!”
Thomann finished his Huskies wrestling career with a combined record of 122-65.
