Washington County Conservation staff will be hosting a Hunter Education class.

This class is geared toward anyone 11 years of age or older, and must be completed prior to purchasing a hunting license at 16.

Hunter education is a mandatory program that is designed to introduce people to life-long skills that are important to many different types of outdoor recreational opportunities.

The course teaches students basic survival and first aid skills, water safety, wildlife identification, the basics of wildlife management, hunting laws and firearm/archery safety. Hunter education also stresses the importance of individual responsibility and outdoor ethics.

This course will be held in the conservation center located at Marr Park in Ainsworth. The deadline to register is March 20th. You can find a link to more information and to register with this news story at KCIIRadio.com
