The Winfield-Mt. Union boys basketball team had a tough end to their regular season, dropping a 46-44 road contest to Pekin. The Panthers surged early, leading 13-4 after the first and found themselves on top 27-18 at the half. WMU outscored the Panthers in total 26-19 after intermission and had gotten back to even at 44 with less than a second remaining. On a baseline in-bound Henry Adam found a slashing Nolan Glick who beat the buzzer and the Wolves on a lay-up as time expired. WMU outshot the Panthers 40-37% in the loss and took steals 10-1. Pekin won rebounds 27-25, assists 13-9 and fouls 15-9. Cole Millikin poured in a game high 17 for the Panthers. Wolves leader was Isaac Egli with 11 points. Max Edwards and Nick Sparrow each had 10 for WMU. Pekin was 18-4 with the win as the Wolves landed at 13-7.
