
The Washington Archery team highlighted their Saturday at the Cardinal shoot with championships and hardware.
The Washington high school team won the block championship with 3285 over second place Eddyville-Blakesburg’s 3219. Hunter Barnes was the boys block individual champ with a 285 and 17 tens. Other top ten Demon boys included Braydon Clough fourth, Layne Moore sixth, Killian Ribble eighth and Chris Deao ninth. The girls were led by Hannah Lipski’s individual championship with a 285 and 17 tens. She was followed by Charlee Read runner-up, Itzell Calixto third, Chloe Hoback fourth, and Hailey Curtis fifth. The high school Demons completed the title sweep with a 1635 in 3D, besting EBF’s 1588. Lipski completed her own personal title sweep, winning the girls 3D championship with a 280 and 13 tens. Other top ten Demons were Read runner-up, Emma Helfrich fourth, Sophie Wittmayer fifth, Calixto sixth, Gabrielle Andrew ninth and Evelyn Glaspie 10th. Leader for the boys was Hunter Barnes in third with a 273 and 12 tens, followed by Clough sixth, Ribble seventh, and Deao 10th.
For the middle school Demons, it was a team block championship with a 3205, over EBF’s 3130. Jordan Thorius won the individual boys title with his 286 and 19 tens. Other top ten Demon boys were Lawson Love third, Jace Helfrich fourth, and Jayse Thorius fifth. Leader for the girls was Aryana Jones runner-up with 270 and seven tens, followed by Miriam Pierce third, Addyson Neer seventh, and Harper Horn eighth. The middle school Demons were 3D team runners-up at 1594 behind the Rocket’s 1601. For the boys Jace Thorius was on top with the title at 276 and 13 tens, followed by Logan Hotchkiss third, Jordan Thorius sixth, and Helfrich 10th. Madalyn Roundy was the girls overall champion with a 263 and six tens, followed by Jones sixth, Pierce seventh and Neer 10th.
The Lincoln Demons were runner-up in block with a team score 2819 behind Cardinal’s 2845. Elementary boys leader was runner-up Enness Abozena at 259 with 12 tens, followed by Owen Gellerstedt fifth, Jack Green ninth and Mason Ousey 10th. On the girls side, Rosalie Montz was sixth at 227 with three tens. Next were Kiara Murphy seventh, and Emma Timmins eighth. The Lincoln Demons were third in 3D with a 1392 team mark behind Eddyville’s 1429. Washington boys leader was Green runner-up at 253 with eight tens. Next were Dawson Zieser fourth and Ousey ninth. For the girls, Montz was fifth at a 222 and four tens. Timmins was sixth.
