There is a learning opportunity for area youth to gain leadership skills available from the Iowa Rotary.
The Rotary Youth Leadership Award is an intensive leadership conference designed to assist future leaders in methods of responsible and effective leadership. Iowa RYLA focuses on developing skills through the lenses of team, community, and emotional leadership with an emphasis on Rotary’s motto: Service Above Self.
The student application is available at IowaRYLA.org and the deadline is April 30th. The RYLA conference is scheduled for July 26-31 and will be held at Grinnell College. The Washington Rotary Club will be awarding two scholarships to cover the $530 cost of each student attending RYLA this year. Students currently in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade are eligible to apply.
