The Highland and Lone Tree boys will each wrap up their 2025-2026 SEISC seasons Tuesday, as the two teams prepare to battle in a boys’ only contest tonight in Lone Tree.
Highland enters tonight at 3-17, 3-12 in the SEISC. The Huskies come in having lost their last game and are 1-4 in their last five. Highland has struggled to contain opposing offenses this season, allowing 68.9 points a game this season while only scoring 47.2 points a game themselves. Bryce Hazelett and Landon Roling combine for over half the team’s points, coming up at 29 points per game. Roling brings in an impressive 9.4 rebounds per game.
Lone Tree is 4-15, but sit one game below the Huskies in the conference standings at 2-13 in the SEISC. The Lions have lost their last five, their last win being a conference win over Wapello on January 16th. Like the Huskies, the Lions allow more points than they score, but the difference is not as dramatic, with the Lions allowing 62.7 while scoring 52.9. Reece Holbrook and Domonic Garcia both average in double-digit for the Lions, but Cade Willoz is knocking on the door at 9.7 points per game.
Neither side came up victorious in the SEISC Shootout last week, with Highland falling to Van Buren County 76-69 and Lone Tree defeated by New London, 71-54. Earlier this season, Highland defeated Lone Tree 62-49 behind Hazelett’s 19 points. Roling added 16, and Jacob Schneider picked up 11. Lone Tree was led by Cade Willoz, who had 12.
