A Wayland woman was arrested Friday on felony probation violation charges, and new charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Nikita Williams after a traffic stop on two Washington County warrants, both for violation of probation on the original charges of possession of contraband in a correctional institution and identity theft.
According to court records, the charges stem from an incident that took place in 2021, when Jones was seen on video surveillance in the Washington County Jail using a vape pen. She was charged and found guilty of possession of contraband on the grounds of a correctional facility, a class D felony. In 2019, Jones was charged with aiding and abetting the crime of identity theft, a Class D felony when she assisted in opening a fraudulent credit card.
Williams is currently being held in the Washington County Jail on a $10,000 bond. A revocation hearing date has been set for February 18th.
