Washington County Outreach increased the total fees collected in the last quarter. The total amount is $2,550, with over $1,000 in the month of April alone. These fees include court fines paid by offenders. Washington County Outreach’s role in the area is to provide probation supervision services to court ordered individuals, as well as substance abuse assessment and evaluations and service referrals..
Outreach Director Joseph Williams shared with the Washington County Board of Supervisors the quarterly report at their meeting on Tuesday, “Right now, I’m at about 55% of probationers on track and set to be successful. That number may not look satisfying to everybody, it could easily go up 10 to 20%. But these are people that I am 99.9% sure will be successful and not come back. The other ones, I’m not sure of. While 55% may not be satisfying for everyone, I think that is really good for probation. The position that 55% of the clientele are going to be successful (not repeat offenders) based on where they are at.”
The total fees collected for the year from March to December is $14,100. The total successful discharges from County Outreach last year was 71 individuals. Williams was hired as the Washington County Outreach Director in February of 2025.
