Four area teams competed at the SEISC Boys Wrestling Tournament over the weekend.

Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union finished second in team points with 152.5. Although the Wildcats didn’t have a champion, they still received second place finishes from Justin Knipfer, Bowen Thomson, Trevor Phillips, and Kason Dopler. Dakota Aney, Angel Ineichen, and Ronaldo Villegas finished third.

Highland finished third with 135 team points. The Huskies had champions in Landon Sweeting and Rocky Hamilton. Other podium finishers included Cash Cole in second place, while Tyler Pierson and Brock Thomann finished third.

WACO took fifth with 107.5 points. Ian Maize and Harley Larrimore finished second. Rydge Sterna and Karver Rude finished third.

Lone Tree finished in twelfth with 20 points. The Lions had two wrestlers, Trenton McKean and Cole Walmsley, finish fourth.

All four teams will next prepare for District competition February 14th.
