Eight area athletes are heading to the mat this week for the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union High School State Wrestling Tournament. 

Competitors include Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks’ Sophie Miller and Ellie Callahan. A trio of Highland Huskies will be competing – Adley Sweeting, Maiya Singbeil, and Chloe Sexton. Lone Tree Lion Olivia Magruder has also advanced to the state tournament. Wrapping up the area competitors at state are Sigourney-Keota Savages Sadie Clarahan and Kia Montgomery. 

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union 2026 High School State Wrestling Tournament is held this Thursday and Friday at Xtream Arena in Coralville. Listen to KCII for live updates from the event.
