
Several area teams took to the mat for the SEISC Girls Wrestling Tournament, with every team putting at least one girl on the podium.
Overall, Van Buren County took first on team points with 205. Pekin was the runner-up with 130. Highland was third with 105. Louisa-Muscatine took fourth with 99, Lone Tree finished fifth with 87, Mediapolis grabbed sixth with 75, Wapello seventh with 69, and WACO was eighth with 60.5. Finally, Columbus/WMU took 9th with 32 points.
Individually, the Huskies saw Adley Sweeting and Chloe Sexton take first place at 120 and 190. Maiya Singbeil and Hailey McFarland finished second at 135 and 170, and Autumn Guseman finished third at 140.
Lone Tree’s Olivia Magruder and Fay Eyler finished first at 130 and 235, and Carlee Sexton took second at 100.
WACO had two second place finishers in Emorry Davis and Mikayla Morrison at 115 and 120, and Macy Bonebrake finished third at 235.
And meanwhile, the Wildcats had two of their wrestlers take second place, with Lizbet Herrera and Jada Moats finding the podium at 155 and 190.
