A Washington County Riverboat Foundation surprise grant recipient completed their goal. 

The Hawkeye Wrestling Academy recently acquired their new passenger bus to transport students to competitions and to practices for those who need it. 

WCRF supplied a $10,000 grant to HWA in October. There are kids from both Washington and Louisa counties that utilize this wrestling academy. 

The HWA is a nonprofit organization founded by University of Iowa four-time All American, four-time Big Ten Champion, Hawkeye Wrestling Club member Alex Marinelli. The academy provides one-on-one coaching to youth, middle school, and high school wrestlers in Iowa City. 

The mission of the HWA is to impact, inspire and empower athletes to pursue their dreams, build champions the right way, and provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train in an environment unlike anywhere else.
