It was a River Valley Conference road sweep Tuesday night for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams as they handled the Durant Wildcats. The Mid-Prairie girls were a 51-37 winner. The Hawks were in a tussle for the first three quarters, leading 14-7 after one. Mid-Prairie saw Durant return the favor and were tied at 21 at half. A fairly even third quarter left the Golden Hawks up just one going to the fourth. The Hawks brought the hammer in the final period, putting together an 18-5 run that lasted the entire frame to pull away for the win. Mid-Prairie out shot Durant 38-34%, won rebounds 37-25, assists 13-6, steals 15-7 and turnovers 20-13. Jovi Evans had a monster 24 point, 11 rebound double double to lead. Morgyn Bender poured in a dozen and Brooklyn Schneider 10 points. Paige Happ led the Wildcats with 13. The Hawks improve to 11-5 overall with the win, 8-2 in the RVC as Durant drops to 5-12 on the season and 3-8 in league play.

The Golden Hawk boys scored a 74-57 victory. Mid-Prairie shot 49% with 12 made threes, grabbing 28 rebounds to go with 17 assists and 17 steals. Three hit double figures for the Hawks with Bryce Henry’s 19 points the leader, including five made threes, Brooks Weber scored 18 with seven rebounds and Carson Humphrey added a dozen points. The Hawks are 10-5 after the win, Durant falls to 6-11.
