The Washington Demons boys and girls wrestling teams both competed at Louisa-Muscatine this weekend.

The big winners for the Demon boys were Caden Greiner and Blaine Rees, who took first place at 138 and 190 respectively. Clayton Bartholomew and Junior Valdez also found the podium in fourth place, Bartholomew at 132 and Valdez at 150.

The Demon girls also had a champion, with Rhya Wellington taking home first place at 140. Nora Stoutner, Belle Venenga, and Colbie Greiner all narrowly missed out on the podium, with all three taking fifth.

It’s postseason time for the girls, with the squad heading to regionals this Friday at Williamsburg. The boys will compete one more time before their regional, at the Southern Iowa Classic this Saturday.
