For the first time, a marathon race will be offered in Washington this spring. The annual Kewash Half Marathon is expanding to also offer a marathon option in addition to their usual half marathon, 10K, and 5K races. The routes were approved by the Washington City council at their recent meeting.

On April 25th, runners will take to the streets for the 13th annual Kewash trail race. The marathon will give participants the chance to run 26.2 miles. The marathon race is scheduled to  begin at 7:30 a.m. and will travel through the downtown district before linking with the Kewash Trail. They will race nearly to Keota and then turn back to Washington to reach 26.2 total miles. The half marathon will begin at 8 a.m. and both the 10K and 5K will start at 8:15 a.m. The Kewash Trail offers a non-technical out-and-back course with a mix of gradual inclines, declines, and flat stretches.

Interested runners can sign-up now at a discounted rate. The rate will increase on March 31st.
