The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls wrestling team was in Cascade Thursday for the annual River Valley Conference championship meet. The Golden Hawks finished sixth of 13 schools with their score of 106 points. Wilton won the league title with 177.

A senior duo stood alone on top of the podium at the end of the night for the Golden Hawks. Sophie Miller was the champion at 145lbs. She pinned Ashlyn Roling of Cascade in the finals. Ellie Callahan was the winner at 190lbs, winning the title bout by fall over Kasey Frommelt of Anamosa. Other top performances on the day included Austyn Sexton reaching the 110lbs finals and finishing runner up. Desinta Moyle in fourth and Lynde Cole fifth.

The Hawks are back on the mat Friday at SuperRegionals when they travel to Wapello.
