Two vehicles collided in winter weather Sunday on Highway 218 resulting in injuries. 

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at 5:38 p.m. authorities responded to a two-vehicle wreck south of the Highland school turnoff on Highway 218. The roadway was partially blocked. 

Drivers involved were 35-year old Thu Hoang Phung of Mt. Pleasant and 30-year old Gustavo Torres of Kansas City, Kansas. 

Three ambulances were dispatched and transported patients to the University of Iowa Hospital. Assisting at the scene were Washington County Ambulance, Johnson County Ambulance, Washington Fire Department, Riverside Fire Department, Riverside Rescue, Iowa Highway Patrol, Washington Rescue, and Bulltown Towing.
