The boys of Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union wrestling took to the mat Saturday at the 2026 Mike Halupnick Big Red Invite in Centerville.

Ten Wildcat wrestlers finished in placing positions. Justin Knipfer at 106, Dakota Aney at 113, and Bowen Thomson at 132 all picked up first place finishes. Kason Dopler took second at 190. Angel Ineichen and Ronaldo Villegas finished in fourth place at 138 and 285 respectively. Trevor Phillips placed fifth at 175. Dante Orozco finished in seventh place at 150. Finally, Jagger Thomsen and Leo Coroana finished ninth at 144 and 157.

The Wildcats will compete in a triangular this Thursday against Pekin and Louisa-Muscatine, before hosting North Linn, North Scott, West Liberty, and Southeast Polk for a quad this Saturday.
