Five area boys’ wrestling teams competed at the WACO Warrior Invitational over the weekend.

All four Washington County schools were there. Of those, Highland led the way, with 10 wrestlers in top six positions. Tyler Pierson took first at 132. Jack Cave (106), Brock Nebergall (126), Rocky Hamilton (144), and Jerrett Brackin (150) all took second place. Four more wrestlers, Cash Cole (120), Brock Thomann (138), Caleb Wheeler (165), and Keegan Sexton (190) finished in third place. Finally, Corbin Plank took sixth at 113.

The host Warriors had eight wrestlers place. That includes Ian Maize and Harley Larrimore, who each took first at 113 and 150 respectively. Teage Pepper finished third at 126. Rydge Sterna took fourth at 120, while Karver Rude and Tyler Rogers each finished fifth at 165 and 190. Jacob Graber and Cylas Elder each took home sixth place at 132 and 175.

Washington had seven wrestlers place. Caden Greiner and Blaine Rees finished first at 138 and 190. Rudy Wolfe took second at 285. Joseph Scheiber (113), Clayton Bartholomew (132), Mark Chenoweth (175), and Brayden Vermillion (215) all finished fourth.

Mid-Prairie saw three wrestlers take home top spots. Tommy Miller received first place at 215, Josh Turner took second at 175, and Brock Fisher grabbed fourth at 285.

Lone Tree’s Tate Nelson was the lone placer for the Lions. He finished fifth at 285.
