
Three area girls’ wrestling teams competed at the Mid-Prairie Invitational on Friday, with all three teams placing several wrestlers.
Top finishers for the host Golden Hawks included first-place finishers Austyn Sexton at 110 and Ellie Callahan at 190, Sophie Miller in second at 155, Lynde Cole in third at 135, fourth-place finishers Destina Moyle at 105 and Layken Lee at 140, and Etta Bell in fifth at 105.
The WACO Warriors were led by Emorry Davis and Makayla Morrison, who each finished fourth at 115 and 120 respectively. Macy Bonebrake took fifth at 235, and Deedra Graber finished sixth at 125.
For Washington, Ryha Wellington and Bella Venega each found the podium at second and third place in 145, and Nora Stoutner finished fifth at 120.
Mid-Prairie will next compete at the River Valley Conference tournament this Friday, WACO will compete over the weekend at the Louisa-Muscatine Girls Wrestling Tournament, and Washington competes in a triangular Monday against Muscatine and Cardinal Community.
