The Washington girls and boys’ wrestling teams competed in duals at Mount Pleasant Thursday night, with the boys emerging victorious 47-24, and girls falling 36-24.
In a night that only saw one forfeit, Washington stood tall. Winners for the boys included Joseph Schreiber at 113 by decision, Clayton Bartholomew at 132 by pinfall, Josiah Tiffany at 138 due to injury, Caden Greiner at 144 by pinfall, Junior Valdez at 150 by technical fall, Mark Chenoweth at 175 by pinfall, Brayden Vermillion at 215 by pinfall, and Rudy Wolfe at 285 by tiebreaker.
The lone contested win for the Washington girls was Ryha Wellington at 145. She won her match by pinfall.
The girls will move on to the Mid-Prairie Invitational on Friday, while the boys wrestle on Saturday at the WACO Warrior Invitational.
