The Washington Community Theater is celebrating 50 years of raising the curtain for Washington audiences. 

They are celebrating a milestone year with an evening of community, celebration, and behind-the-scenes fun. On Tuesday, January 20th, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. there will be an open house celebration. A ribbon cutting will take place at 5:30 p.m. 

This Alive After Five event will include a welcome of the new Theater Manager, Mark Fischer, behind-the-scenes theater tours, raffles for show tickets, appetizers and drinks provided by Circa 59, and an introduction of the 2026 season.

Celebrate five decades of storytelling, creativity, and community support. Hosted in partnership with the Washington Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held at the 

Washington Community Theater at 2227 250th Street. This year’s line up of Community Theater shows includes: Grumpy Old Men, Meet Me in St. Louis, and The Shawshank Redemption.
