
The Washington City Council approved a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) service agreement with JETCO for the water treatment department at their recent meeting.
The city’s SCADA service agreement with JETCO was up for a three-year renewal. The SCADA system is an integral part of the water treatment process. The new agreement proposed one change from the previous agreement. The agreement suggested an upgrade of the Sonicwall Hardware during the first year which has made changes that are beneficial to cyber security. This added change will be around a 7.7% increase over the three-year period.
The total cost of the agreement will be $51,667, and includes 24-hour trouble shooting and onsite visits. The previous three-year contract cost the city $47,980. The council approved the agreement unanimously.
