A 20-year-old Mt. Pleasant man has plead guilty to lascivious acts with a child, a class D felony. 

A jury trial was held on November 4th for Kyle Wyatt. Wyatt was also charged with indecent exposure, a serious misdemeanor. He was arrested in June in Mt Pleasant. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, an investigation was conducted after receiving a report of a possible sexual assault that occurred on May 10th. 

Wyatt’s sentencing hearing was held on December 15th in the Henry County Courthouse. He plead guilty to lascivious acts with a child, a class D felony. He will serve five years in the Iowa Medical Classification Center in Oakdale, and will be registered as a sex offender. He has been ordered to pay over $1,300 in fines. 

The charge of indecent exposure was dismissed.
