The Lone Tree Lions and Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves will meet tonight at Lone Tree High School for a doubleheader you can hear on KCII.

All four teams set for action on Tuesday night played on Monday. On the girls’ side, Lone Tree lost to the English Valleys Bears 53-48, while WMU lost to Holy Trinity Catholic, 51-34.  Lone Tree is looking to continue its fight for a top spot in the SEISC-North, sitting at 7-3 in conference and 9-5 overall. Meanwhile, WMU is looking for its first conference win at 0-10, while being 1-12 overall.

Finley Jacque and Ava Christofferson continue to be the go-to scorers for the Lions attack, averaging 20.1 and 14.7 points per game respectively. Madisen Kellogg leads the Wolves offense at 12.6 points per game. Earlier this season, these two teams met at Winfield-Mt. Union High School, with Lone Tree taking the win 75-33. Jacque put forward a monster effort in that contest, dropping 30. Lilly Hecketorn led the Wolves with 10 on 5-for-11 shooting.

The script is flipped for the boys contest, with WMU sitting near the top of the conference at 8-1 and 8-3 overall, while Lone Tree trails behind at 1-8 and 3-9 overall. WMU lost to Holy Trinity Catholic 51-34 on Monday, while Lone Tree earned a 70-49 victory.

The Wolves will look for a little more offense on Tuesday, with Isaac Egli and Cody Milks being potential threats for Lone Tree to answer. The Lions are led by Reece Holbrook, at 13.4 points per game, and Cade Willoz at 9.4 points per game. In the first meeting between these two teams, WMU eked out a narrow 46-36 win, pulling away in the fourth quarter. Max Edwards led the Wolves with 15. Holbrook and John Daufeldt added 12 a piece.
