The Keota Eagle boys and girls basketball teams returned from Brooklyn Friday with a South Iowa Cedar League sweep of the Bears. The Eagle girls were a winner 55-34. The Eagles flew out fast, leading 19-3 after one and 36-10 at half. The Bears would not get any closer than 20 in the second half as Keota cruised to the win. The Eagles out shot the Bears 43-27% and won rebounds 35-26, assists 13-4, steals 14-8 and turnovers 29-20. Cameron Haifley led the Keota offense with 14 points, Jessalyn Aller had nine rebounds and Haifley, Emily Conger and Karley Greiner each had three assists. Ellie English led BGM with a 12 point, 10 rebound double double. The win moved Keota to 8-3 overall and 5-3 in conference as BGM dropped to 4-6 on the year the 2-6 in league play.

The Eagle boys finished the sweep, 70-48. Keota shot 48% to the Bears 40% and won rebounds 32-23, assists, 23-12, steals 10-5 and turnovers 14-10. Chase Haifley poured in 20 points to lead a group of five for Keota in double figures. He was followed by 13 for Jackson Vittetoe, 12 each for Porter Cave and Ayden Galindo and 11 for Blake Baker. Top number for BGM was 14 for Beau Burns. Keota stood at 6-3 on the year with the win and 5-3 in the SICL while the Bears dropped to 2-7 overall and 2-6 in the SICL.
