The Highland Huskies and Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union Wildcats each traveled to Burlington Notre Dame Thursday for a Southeast Iowa Superconference boys wrestling triangular against the home Nikes. Columbus got the win over Highland 43-35, but were beaten by Notre Dame 53-22. The Huskies were also beaten by the Nikes 68-14.

Top ‘Cats on the night included undefeated evenings for Ronaldo Villegas with two pins, and a fall and a major decision for Kason Dopler. Justin Knipfer, Dakota Aney, and Bowen Thomson each went 1-1 with a pin, while Angel Ineichen split his two matches with a major, and Dante Orozco was 1-1 with a 12-8 contested win. The Wildcats have a dual record of 4-2.

Top Highland performers included unbeaten nights for Caleb Wheeler with two pins, a pair of tech falls for Landon Sweeting, and a fall and 11-8 decision for Rocky Hamilton. Huskies that went .500 on the night include Brock Nebergall and Jerrett Brackin each with a pin. Highland’s dual record is 6-5.
