The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys wrestling team traveled to Independence Saturday to start 2026 with a dual tournament. Mid-Prairie went 1-2 on the day, beating Saydel 36-30, before falling to Hampton-Dumont 76-6 and the home Mustangs 83-0. Contested match wins included Brock Fisher with a pair of pins at heavyweight and Will Snider scoring a fall at 190lbs. The Hawks are back in action Thursday at Bellevue in a River Valley Conference quad with Northeast Goose Lake, Camanche and the home Comets.
