The chairman of the Washington County Board of Supervisors has been selected for 2026. 

At their first meeting of the new year, the supervisors voted on a new chairman and vice chair Friday. The supervisors elected Jack Seward Jr. to serve as the chairman and Marcus Fedler will be vice chair.

Former Chairman Richard Young served for two out of the last three years, and announced at the end of the meeting that this will be his last year on the board as he will not seek reelection. 

The last time that Seward was selected as chairman was in 2020.
