
Gas prices continue to fall in Iowa as we kick off the new year. As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.38 across Iowa according to AAA.
Prices fell four cents from last week and are down 38 cents from this time a year ago.The national average on Wednesday was $2.84, down two cents from last week’s price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell one cent this week with a statewide average of $3.30. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.28 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 27 cents lower than the national average of $3.57.
Heating fuels are also down. Natural gas prices were down 41 cents and are currently priced at $3.77. Propane prices averaged $1.58 per gallon in Iowa. Home heating oil prices had a statewide average of $2.81 per gallon.
