It was a productive first half of the season on the mat for local wrestlers. Seven area athletes find themselves ranked in the latest polls from Iawrestle.com.

In the Class 2A boys poll, Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union has a pair of representatives. Kason Dopler is No. 9 at 175lbs with a 9-2 record. Dakota Aney is No. 10 at 113lbs with a 7-3 record.

In boys Class 1A, WACO’s Ian Maize is No. 2 at 113lbs standing at 15-1 on the year.

Sigourney-Keota’s heavyweight Owen Menke is No. 5 in the state in 1A and unbeaten at 15-0.

Highland’s Cash Cole checks in at No. 8 in 1A at 120lbs at 7-3.

In the girls Class 1A rankings from Iawrestle.com, Mid-Prairie’s Sophie Miller is No. 8 at 155lbs with a 9-2 record.

Lone Tree’s Olivia Magruder is No. 11 in Class 1A at 135lbs with a 19-1 mark.
