The Washington Demon boys and girls basketball teams kick off 2026 tonight with a road trip to Fort Madison for a Southeast Conference doubleheader with the Bloodhounds. The Demon girls enter the night with a 5-2 overall record and 2-1 standing in the league. They entered break after beating Mount Pleasant 44-22. The Demons score 46 points per game and give up 36 on 32% shooting, 27% from three and 50% at the line with 33 rebounds, 11 steals, 10 assists and 17 turnovers per game. Individually, Adalyn Long leads at 14 points, three assists and three steals per night. Addison Miller is best on the glass at six boards per game. Fort Madison is 4-2 this year and a matching 2-1 in conference play. The Bloodhounds beat Burlington Notre Dame in their final outing of 2025 45-39. The Hounds score 47 points per game, giving up 44, on 37% shooting, 14% from deep and 55% at the line with 23 rebounds, 10 steals, six assists and nine turnovers per game. Individually, Fort Madison is led by Dayonna Davis’ 15 points, five steals and three assists per game. Halle Menke’s nine rebounds per night are best. The Bloodhounds have won the last 11 in the series, including a 57-45 and 32-28 sweep a season ago. Washington’s last win came in 2020.

The Demon boys are 5-2 on the year and 2-1 in the Southeast Conference after closing the first part of the season with a 55-47 win over rival Mount Pleasant. This year Washington averages and gives up 53 points per game on 40% shooting, 24% from long range and 60% at the line with 31 rebounds, 11 assists, nine steals and 14 turnovers per game. Individually, Drew Conrad’s 16 points and four assists per night are best. Rajan Roth leads at eight rebounds and two steals per game. Fort Madison is winless on the year in six tries and 0-3 in conference after a 97-43 setback against Notre Dame before Christmas. This year the Bloodhounds score 48 per game and give up 71 on 36% shooting, 27% from three and 58% at the line with 23 rebounds, nine assists, six steals and 14 turnovers per game. Individually, Nolan Guzman is the leader at 17 points per night. Ezekial Grove has five rebounds, Aurelio Jaciunde five assists and Jonah Tackett two steals. The Bloodhounds have won four straight over the Demons including a 72-50 and 90-87 sweep last year. Washington’s last win came in 2023.
