KCII Radio is working to support area communities by raising funds and collecting items for local food pantries with our 23rd Annual Washington HyVee Caring Christmas Food Drive.
KCII General Manager Joe Nichols highlights the need in the community, “I think it’s one in 13 Iowans are suffering from some sort of food shortage or hunger. One in nine are children. So, it affects so many different things, from health to how they can do in school, it just affects every part of your life if you are dealing with a hunger issue. So, our goal has always been to help to fight that, and have neighbors helping neighbors, and make our communities in our area even better for everybody.”
In addition, KCII will host our fourth annual KCII Day of Giving Live Radiothon on Wednesday where people are able to make pledges by calling into the station or donating at KCIIRadio.com. Business partners will visit the KCII Studios on-air to talk about the cause. The KCII Big Red Radio will broadcast live from the Washington HyVee from 3-5 p.m.
