columbus-donations

The Columbus girls and boys basketball teams collected canned foods and non-perishable items to support the local Community Action Program in Columbus Junction.

Items were collected and donated ahead of the Wildcats’ pre-season scrimmage against English Valleys. The total amount of the donation was priced at $152.83.

Columbus girls basketball head coach Kasey Keltner says his team enjoys giving back to the community. “They’re always grateful for what we are able to do, and we’re grateful to help our community because our community helps us so much. And obviously, it’s a time where there’s a food shortage and there’s insecurities with that. Anything that we can do to help, we are very willing to try to do that. I thought the girls did a good job collecting.”

Keltner says the numbers came out similarly to what they have collected in the past. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Wildcats basketball programs have participated in giving back to the Community Action Program.

Those interested in giving to the Community Action Program in Columbus Junction can do so by bringing items that they wish to donate to their office at 202 E Access Street Suite D.
