
A winter storm blew through the KCII-listening area beginning Friday and into early Sunday morning causing travel impacts.
Winter storm warnings were issued Friday by the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities. Travel was significantly impacted on Saturday and Sunday. Strong southeast winds gusted up to 30 miles per hour as the snow fell lead to drifting snow. Wellman received 10 inches of snow and Riverside saw six inches, according to the National Weather Service.
The Iowa State Patrol responded to 856 calls for service, including 210 crashes, and 646 motorists assists statewide.
Additional winter weather is in the forecast with a chance of a new snow accumulation of two to four inches possible.
