A Keokuk County 4-H member placed third in a recent statewide fishing competition.
Levi Voyles, a member of the Statewide Fishing Club, took third place in the bass competition with a 17-inch fish. The Statewide Fishing Club is open to Iowa youth in grades 4–12 and offers educational webinars, self-led fishing tournaments, and opportunities to learn about Iowa’s aquatic ecosystems and safe outdoor recreation. The program aims to help youth build fishing skills, gain confidence, and enjoy hands-on learning in nature.
Ashley Yedlik, 4-H Youth Program Coordinator in Keokuk County, says, “We are proud of Levi’s accomplishment and all the youth who are participating in this unique statewide program.”
The tournament began on September 23rd and ended November 10th. Fishers participated on their own time all throughout Iowa.
