Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC) has recently announced the establishment of a cancer care center, and subsequent fund. 

The Havel Family Cancer Center is described by the WCHC Foundation as a place of dignity, comfort, and hope where families can receive exceptional treatment close to home. This vision is made possible through the generosity of LeRoy Havel, the founding benefactor. His commitment ensures the community will have access to advanced cancer care in Washington County.

Alongside this project, the Light the Way Fund was announced to provide ongoing funding for the center. It will provide lasting support for patients and caregivers, sustaining equipment, education, and compassionate services for generations to come. The Light the Way Fund will sustain ongoing care by helping maintain and enhance the oncology space, fund medical equipment and staff training, and provide assistance with medication and emergency needs.
