To prepare for the upcoming election, the Washington Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidate forum Wednesday and KCII broadcasted live from the event. 

The forum began at 5:30 p.m. at the Washington Public Library. Most of the forum was a question-and-answer format. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director ran the forum, “  “  

Those participating included candidates running for city council. In ward four that includes incumbent Fran Stigers and challenger Susan Carroll. The at-large candidates are incumbent Elaine Moore, Gary “Steve” Howard, and Douglas Hoyle. 

The mayoral and ward two seats are running unopposed with incumbent Millie Youngquist and newcomer Jennine Wolf respectively running for those positions. Ward two incumbent Ivan Rangel is not seeking re-election.

Voters can cast ballots by mail, in-person at the courthouse, or on election day with polls opening at 7 a.m. In the City of Washington, election day polling locations are YMCA of Washington County at 520 West 5th Street for wards one and two, and the United Presbyterian Home at 1203 East Washington Street  for wards three and four.
