A new restaurant and bar celebrated its official grand opening in Washington on Wednesday. 

After just under a year of renovation and construction, Libations on Iowa is open to the public. The business is located at 106 South Iowa Avenue on Washington’s square. This bar and restaurant offers flatbreads, sharable appetizers, dessert martinis, shimmering cocktails and a variety of different beers. They celebrated their grand opening with the Washington Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Washington. 

The renovation was made possible in part by a Main Street Challenge Grant and Downtown Investment Grant. Main Street Washington received $100,000 through the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Iowa Downtown Resource Center and Main Street Iowa programs in November of 2024 for the project.
