
Absentee voting begins tomorrow for the November 4th city and school elections to be held in Washington County. Absentee voting can be done by mail or in-person at the courthouse.
If you are not already registered to vote or if your address has recently changed, the deadline to pre-register is Monday, October 20th at 5 p.m. If mailed, the voter registration must be postmarked no later than Monday, October 20th.
Any person who is eligible to vote may register in person on election day by completing a voter registration application, making a written oath, and providing proof of both identity and residence. Individuals who are currently registered to vote in Washington County, who have moved within the county, may change their address at the polls on election day with proper identification and residency documentation.
Registration before October 20th is strongly encouraged to avoid delays at the polling place. Residents of Washington County may register at the County Auditor’s Office at the Courthouse in Washington. The County Auditor’s Office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, October 20th.
