An inmate has escaped from Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

At 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, authorities announced that a 50-year-old 5’5” white male walked away from the correctional facility. He is currently wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. Anyone who sees him should call 911. 

Those in Mt. Pleasant are advised to secure their doors.
