Washington County Hospital and Clinics has taken a step forward in advanced vascular care.
They have recently added a Parks Flo-Lab, for Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) testing. This system allows WCHC to perform both rest and stress ABI exams, giving providers a more precise picture of blood flow and circulation issues, especially in patients with reduced blood flow or hardened arteries. More comprehensive testing means potential circulation problems can be identified and treated sooner, supporting better long-term health for the community.
It also complements the work of outreach provider Jerud Cozine, ARNP, from Mercy Cedar Rapids, who sees patients at WCHC every second and fourth Friday. Cozine specializes in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, including treatment for arterial disease, venous disease, and lymphedema.
