The Washington Demon boys and girls cross country teams traveled to the Bob Brown Invitational at Iowa City Regina Thursday. The Washington girls had the top finish in fourth with a team score of 116. Solon won the team title with 55 points. Iris Dahl was the team-leader in second at 20:02. Mary Lyons of Monticello was the champ at 19:48. Other Demon runners included Kora Miller 15th, Emma Horak 21st, Angeline Anderson 27th, Elli Van Der Molen 65th, Isobel Murphy 92nd, and Kenzie Thomas 127th.
The Washington boys were fifth with 132 points. Clear Creek Amana won the team title with 44. Andrew Rees was overall runner-up to pace the Demons in 16:33. Quentin Nauman of Western Dubuque was the boys winner in 15:48. Other Washington runners were Parker Tschantz 27th, Jack Shepherd 33rd, Sawyer Tschantz 38th, Teag Miller 42nd, Xavi Recendez 64th, Logan Hoback 115th, and Quintyn Garibay 138th.
The Demons will be back in action Thursday at Fairfield.
