The start of the new school year is right around the corner, and Washington County Public Health wants to make sure kids are healthy and ready to return. They will be hosting back to school vision and dental clinics in August.
Washington County Public Health Executive Director gives more information on what screenings and immunizations are required for what ages, “The dental screenings are required for Kindergarten and ninth graders, the vision screening is required for Kindergarten and third, and then lead testing is required before Kindergarten. Our immunizations are required for Kindergarten, seventh and twelfth grade.”
The first clinic will be held on August 4th with free dental screenings for children going into Kindergarten and 9th grade from 3-6 p.m. No appointment is needed and is on a first come, first serve basis. Vision screenings will also be available during this time. The same format will be followed for a second clinic offered on August 14th. These services are available for any child that lives in Washington County.
Both clinics will be held in Public Health’s new location at 2175 Lexington Boulevard, building two, on the west side of Washington. Any questions can be directed to Washington County Public Health.
