A flood warning along the Iowa River at Marengo continues and flood watches in other areas have been issued. According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, the flood warning at Marengo is now in place until further notice. Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue. The flood stage there is 16 feet, and on Thursday water was 15.5 feet and slowly rising.

A flood watch has been issued for the Cedar River near Conesville from Monday evening until further notice.

People are urged to use caution if walking near riverbanks. And if you encounter a flooded road, turn around and don’t drown. The NWS states most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
