A father and son duo were sentenced to federal prison for Conspiracy to Distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa, the two men involved are 75-year old Ronald Dickey Mason and 43-year old Ronald Kieth Mason, both of Keokuk. Court documents outline they conspired to sell large amounts of meth in eastern Iowa including Riverside, Cedar Rapids, Burlington, and Keokuk, as well as in Des Moines.

Last summer, 28 pounds of methamphetamine was located in the trunk with a gun in the console of Ronald Dickey Mason’s vehicle. The duo plead guilty earlier this year to drug-related charges. A jury convicted Ronald Dickey Mason in March of carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

On Tuesday, Ronald Dickey Mason was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. The younger Mason was sentenced in June to 20 years in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
